Slideflickr v2.0 Open Beta is finally here!

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

Big news today, Slideflickr v2.0 open beta has gone live!

Well let’s see what’s new, shall we?

I got a lot, I mean vast amount, of feedback, from the last version of Slideflickr, such as feature requests, bug issues, positive and negative comments, so after a lot of thinking, prioritizing and programming here’s the list of new things implemented in Slideflickr v2.0:

  • New Slideshow Player
  • Social features in the website
  • Statistics
  • Ability to edit already created slideshows
  • and more..

New Slideshow Player

Slideshow player has been updated with a sharing toolbar and a new music player, as well as the ability to get custom background images, Creative Commons license support, ability to begin with a paused slideshow and slideshow description.

Slideshow player

Sharing toolbar lets the user share the slideshow in Twitter / Facebook / StumbleUpon / Del.icio.us or instantly embed it anywhere, and informs the user about comments on the specific slide(show from)flickr. Music player has now volume control and mute option as well.

Slideflickr Social Features

After the whole slideshow player update, I though it would be cool to just have Slideflickr act as a social network where anyone could create / edit / comment slideshows created from Flickr images, so here you are. You can create a Slideflickr.com account or login with your existing Flickr account and save your created slideshows, in order to edit them later and view stats about them (graph stats are on the way) and / or manage comments made there.

Dashboard

You can login /register from the menu right next to the logo, and view your dashboard (after login) here.

I am waiting for your feedback! Go create now!

I am pleased to announce that Slideflickr for iPhone has reached alpha version and every iPhone user can test it here. Just play around by changing the tag of the url in whatever you want for starters.

I am waiting for your comments and ideas as the interface (as well as this blog’s theme) are still under construction!
